Your testimony helps you and others overcome. The enemy wants to keep you from sharing your testimony because he knows the power behind it. It was the testimony of the Samaritan woman that affected the whole city (John 4:39), and it is your testimony that will change and affect someone else’s life. Yes, faith does come by hearing the word of God, but it also can be increased by hearing what God has done for others. Remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.
