Food 4 Thought 5/30/08

Greetings,
Here is the recipe for today…

Job 5:17-18
Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects; therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty. For He bruises, but He binds up; He wounds, but His hands make whole.

He does this out of Love. Sometimes He allows us to hurt, only that so we can learn how to heal. How can you testify about His goodness if you haven’t experienced it first hand? That is what this season in your life is about, hands on testimony building. So enjoy the journey as much as the arrival. He is preparing you, and sometimes preparation hurts, but it works. Remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.

Greetings,
Here is the recipe for today…

Isaiah 1:19
If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.

If you want all that God has for you while you are here on earth you have to be both willing and obedient. Willing to do what God says do no matter what He tells you to do, willing to trust Him when you can’t trace Him, and willing to let go and let God. You also have to be obedient to His will over your will, His plan over your plans, and His timing and not your timing. Give God a “yes” and He will do the rest. Remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.

Greetings,
Here is the recipe for today…

Matthew 7:12
Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

Are you treating others as you want to be treated? Often times people get so caught up focusing on themselves that they overlook, mistreat, or wrong others. In the
kingdom of God it is about serving one another, but do you or have you served anyone other than yourself lately? The bible tells us to look out for the interest of others (Philippians 2:4). Now it is easy to serve those that you love and see everyday, but what about those that you don’t? Remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.

Greetings,
Here is the recipe for today…

Job 30:26
But when I looked for good, evil came to me; and when I waited for light, then came darkness.

You ever felt like for every one step you take forward, you end up taking two steps backwards? Or when you are doing the right thing, and it seems like nothing but wrong keeps happening? Well you have something in common with the narrator in this text, which was facing difficult challenges as well. Just like Job, God will give you double for your trouble. So hold on, and know that it’s just a test, and with every test you take you gain something. The question is what will you gain from this? Remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.

Greetings,
Here is the recipe for today…

Ecclesiastes 3:17b
For there is a time for every purpose and for every work.

God has everything already planned out. He is the source, the course, and the force. He knows when, where, and how to test you, and how to bless you. So be encouraged on today, and expect God to show up and show out. He doesn’t use your help, endorsement, approval, or signature, He uses your faith. Remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.

Greetings,
Here is the recipe for today…

Proverbs 12:25
Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad.

Have you ever been anxious to receive what God has promised you? How about to recover everything that was taken from you? Well sometimes you cannot always see it with your natural eyes, but God will send a word to bless you. When you seek an answer you will find an answer (Matthew 7:7). Sometimes the things we are seeking answers for, God had already given us an answer for, but we may have overlooked it, or we probably weren’t paying attention. The great thing about God is that He is a God of confirmation. He is repetitious in the word, so He will be repetitious with your word. Remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.

Greetings,
Here is the recipe for today…

1 Corinthians 10:13 (English Standard Version)
No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

Sometimes we face challenges that seem unbearable, too tough, or extremely difficult to overcome. It may be something new on the horizon, or something you have been dealing with for quite some time. This verse of scripture reminds us that God creates opportunity in the midst of opposition for you to remain optimistic. Remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.

Greetings,
Here is the recipe for today…

Joshua 6:20
So the people shouted when the priests blew the trumpets, and it happened when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat.

Not everyone will understand what God has you going through, facing, believing, trusting, and waiting for. In this text God instructed Joshua to have his men march around the city of Jericho for seven days. On the seventh day they had to march around the wall seven times, blow trumpets and then shout, and it was then that God made the walls fall down.

Now that probably did not make since to the people inside the wall as they were listening and watching, nor did it make since to those who were marching and shouting. The only person that it made perfect sense to was the one who received the instructions first hand, Joshua. Remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.

Greetings,
Here is the recipe for today…

1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear.

God is love, so if we say we have love (God), then we do not fear. Why fear what can happen to you, if you have God. Why stress over your situation, when you have God. Why feel left-behind, hopeless, dropped off, disappointed, defeated, and forsaken, when you have God? He navigated you where you are now, and He will continue to navigate where you go as long as you yield to Him and not to them. Remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.

God makes provision in your life. This helps you during a time of uncertainty, or when you are faced with a touch decision. He already knows, and has already answered. Jude
1:24 (NIV)
To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy.

God can keep you, even when you do not want to keep yourself. His plans are to prosper you and not to harm you, and He has plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11), so stay encouraged. Trouble don't last always. Remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.

He is a Keeper
God always keeps me when trials seem to beat me,
Sometimes He moves discreetly, but that is only to complete me,
It is used to teach me that pain will not defeat me,
and when the cares of the world breach me,
My faith in God is like wind beneath me,
To take me away...

Greetings,

Romans 3:23 (NCV) New Century Version

Everyone has sinned and fallen short of God's glorious standard.

At some point in life even the greatest of people fall. The bible does not tell you a story of perfect people; it tells you a story of persistent people. People who get up from a fall only to try again and again. God does not give up on us, so why give up on Him? It’s not that we’re sinless; it’s just that we sin less. Remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.

Greetings,
Here is the recipe for today…

Psalm 31:22

For I said in my haste, “I am cut off from before Your eyes”; Nevertheless You heard the voice of my supplications when I cried out to You.

Ever felt like your prayers fell short of landing on the throne of grace? How about feeling like the Lord is not paying attention to what is going on with you? Maybe you feel like the disciples on board the boat during a terrible storm, and Jesus being below deck sound asleep. Well let me encourage you today. God sees, God hears, God cares, and He has already made plans to bring you out. Tragedies can be opportunities. Remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.

Galatians 6:5
For each one shall bear his own load.

The easiest way not to examine yourself is to blame others. Some people like to blame others for their struggles, hurts, pains, problems, shortcomings, and feelings. The truth of the matter is that everything falls on you; you are responsible for carrying your own cross. No one has control over our lives but God, and He has given us choice. When you point the finger at someone else you end up pointing three fingers right back at yourself. Remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.

Greetings,
Here is the recipe for today…

Matthew 8:8
The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that you should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.

God can turn your situation around with only a word. This text teaches us that if He can create the world with just words, then obviously He can heal with words. See, it took faith for the centurion to use faith by saying but only speak a word, and Jesus responded in faith by saying “Go your way: and as you have believed, so let it be done for you” (v.13). One word from the Lord restores, creates, removes, delivers, unlocks, or heals anything in your life, and in the lives of others. Remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.

Greetings,
Here is the recipe for today…

John 16: 33b
In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

No one ever said becoming a Christian was an easy walk. We are called to a life of faith where we do not always see something physically, but rather spiritually. We also are signed up to be persecuted, mistreated, disrespected, discredited, and overlooked, but that is used to help complete us. What the enemy anticipates will destroy you, God uses to develop you. So take care and take charge because God is in full control. Remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.

Joel 2:25
So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust.

Have you ever lost something that you know was consumed by the enemy? Well I have good news for you on today; God is a God of restoration who loves to give His children double for their trouble. Everything that was stolen, destroyed, shipwrecked, consumed, and confiscated by the enemy will be given back to you better than it was when it was taken from you. God is not inconsistent, God is sovereign, so He will help you pursue, overtake, and recover all (1 Samuel 30:8). Can you believe God for it? Greetings,
Here is the recipe for today…

Joshua 1:9
Be strong and of good courage, do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

God sometimes assigns us to places we do not want to go. That is what makes it hard to be strong and of good courage when you are on certain assignments from and for God. Look at Abraham, do you think he wanted to leave the land he was familiar with? What about Jonah who was told to go to
Nineveh? These different examples in the bible shows us that sometimes God puts us in places or situations we would not go on our own, but that he assigns us to them for a certain season. Remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.

Romans 1:24
Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lust of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves.

God gives us warnings and signals; warnings before we make mistakes and signals to get us out of a mistake we already made. The question is, are you heeding to the signs? His signs help guide, gird, and guard you, but that’s if you are paying attention. Remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.

James 5:16b

The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Know that your prayers do not go unanswered. God responds to the petitions of His children when it is real (Psalm 34:17). So now that you have prayed about it, praise about it, because God already worked it out. Faith is seeing it happen, before it happens, until it happens. So stay encouraged on today, and enjoy the journey as much as the arrival, because God is with you. Remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.

Greetings,

Psalm 40:1-2
I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me and heard my cry. He brought me out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps.

You have to be reminded that while you wait on the Lord He hears your petitions. Your prayer is not in vain, He has already acted on your behalf spiritually; it’s just that you cannot see it physically. It might be delayed, but it is not denied. He has a master plan for your life that is better than anything you can ever imagine. When He brings you out of the situation or circumstance, He will set you up on solid ground where you will be stable, and unmovable in your faith. This will establish many things for you as you walk into your destiny. Remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.

James 1:6
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.

If you are waiting on God to move whether it be by word or action this verse is a good reference for you. First you have to ask in faith, and sometimes we have not because we ask not (James 4:2). Asking in faith is knowing that God will give you an answer, you just have to open your eyes, ears, and heart. Sometimes God even gives you an answer before you put your lips together to ask Him (Isaiah 65:24). Remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.
