Food 4 Thought 6/16/08

Greetings,
Here is the recipe for today…

1 John 4:19
We love because he first loved us.

We all want to feel loved, cared for, valued, appreciated, and acknowledged, but sometimes we look for this in the wrong places. Who can love you like God can? Who cares for you like God cares? Who can treat you like God treats you? No one!!! He loved us before we loved ourselves, so stop looking for it from people, when you have a God who does it. God loved you enough to wait on you, but do you love Him enough to wait on Him? Remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.

“The longer you wait, the better it will be”

Food 4 Thought 6/13/08

Greetings,
Here is the recipe for today…

Mark 10:27
But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”

Take a moment to imagine the power of God. The God who can: part the sea, rain fire from heaven, feed thousands of people with just a couple of fish and a few loaves of bread, and also raise the dead. Now imagine the challenges in your life that you are faced with that require a move of God. All of the miracles that took place in the bible required faith. From the smallest faith to the largest faith they all required faith. Remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.

“Faith activates God, and fear activates the enemy

Greetings,
Here is the recipe for today…

Genesis 41:51b (New Living Translation)
God has made me forget all my troubles and everyone in my father’s family.

God can and will turn things around!!! It doesn’t matter what you have been through, what you going through, or what you will go through. He deals with your hurt, pain, loss, depression, rejection or any other strong emotion that life throws at you. He has a strong history of removing, restoring and renewing those that reach out to Him. Remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.

Greetings,
Here is the recipe for today…

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

There are some things that we need from the Lord that we cannot get from others. This verse of scripture teaches us that Jesus gives us peace. He showed the disciples evidence of His peace by rebuking the storm that had been taking place in their lives (Matthew
8:26). Just like the disciples we need the peace of God to be made evident in our lives as we face our storms. Remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.

“Either you have peace of mind, or you lose pieces of your mind”

Greetings,
Here is the recipe for today…

Zephaniah 3:17b
He will quiet you with His love.

Sometimes the presence of God in your situation will do just what this verse says “quiet you.” His grace and His mercy will sometimes leave you speechless. Just like Jesus quieted the storm for the disciples, He can quiet the storm in your life. Other times God is waiting for you to get quiet so that He can speak to you in a still small voice (1 Kings 19:12). Remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.

“His grace can attest to what His love can express”

Food 4 Thought 6/5/08

Greetings,
Here is the recipe for today…

John 8:47
He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.”

Even Jesus had to steal away from time to time to hear from God. He speaks to your heart by the Holy Spirit, but in order for Him to do that you have to have His Spirit and speak His language which is the word. You can’t understand another language unless you first learn the language. So learn His word, especially if you want Him to direct your steps. Remember faith comes by hearing. Remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.

“Connect with the vine, and everything will be fine.”

Food 4 Thought 6/4/08

Greetings,
Here is the recipe for today…

Proverbs 26:11
As a dog returns to his own vomit, so a fool repeats his folly.

Don’t repeat your foolishness. Learn not only from your own mistakes, but learn also from the mistakes of others. This is what separates a wise person from a foolish person. Wise men learn more from fools than fools learn from the wise (Cato the Elder). So exercise wisdom and remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.

“Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools talk because they have to say something.”
-Plato

Food 4 Thought 6/2/08

Greetings,
Here is the recipe for today…

James 4:10
Humbles yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

Humility is relying, depending, submitting, yielding, and showing reverence to Almighty God. This verse of scripture teaches us that if you humble yourself privately, God will lift you up publicly. We are encouraged to be humble at all times, because God is omnipresent, and this verse instructs us to humble ourselves in His sight. So that means we should be humble at all times, especially when dealing with, or being in the sight of other people. Remember, in order to get Godly wisdom you have to retain Him in your knowledge by studying His word to get an understanding.

“When you show humility you show stability”
